PSM I Overview — What’s Tested & How to Prepare

PSM I overview: what the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master I assessment emphasizes and how to prepare efficiently.

PSM I tends to reward precision. Many wrong answers are “almost Scrum” but introduce control, handoffs, or outputs over outcomes.

What to prioritize

  • Scrum theory: empiricism (transparency/inspection/adaptation).
  • Scrum values: how they guide behavior in tough situations.
  • Events + outcomes: Sprint Goal, Definition of Done, usable Increment.
  • Accountabilities: who decides what, and why.

When in doubt, choose the answer that strengthens the Scrum Team’s ability to deliver a Done Increment every Sprint.
