General Legal/Process 2024 Study Plan - 4 Weeks to Exam Day

Week 1 - Build the legal framework

• Read the official General Legal/Process syllabus once.
• Map the Building Code Act and Division C at a high level.
• Start a role sheet for owners, designers, builders, registered code agencies, and officials.

Week 2 - Administrative process review

• Work through permit, document, inspection, occupancy, and enforcement flow.
• Turn each process into a short checklist you can recall quickly.
• End each study block by asking: what starts the process, who acts, and what document follows?

Week 3 - Qualifications and crossover topics

• Review BCIN qualification, general review, insurance, and alternative-solution content.
• Add the technical crossover items named in the syllabus.
• Keep technical notes brief and tied to the legal/process question they support.

Week 4 - Timed mixed review

• Run three or four timed blocks of mixed legal and process questions.
• Review misses by cause:
  • wrong party
  • wrong process step
  • wrong legal authority
  • over-read technical detail

Final 3 days

• Re-read your process checklists and role sheet.
• Review only your highest-yield mistakes.
• Confirm the exact code cycle tied to your Humber sitting.
