Current practice
Finance Prep contains 2,320 original RIBO Level 1 practice questions as of September 22, 2026. The same continuing bank covers the ten competency areas in RIBO’s Entry-Level Broker Competency Profile and Blueprint , with single-answer questions and clearly labelled Select TWO exercises for additional learning. Select TWO is a practice format, not RIBO’s official exam format.
The free public exam contains 100 questions. RIBO’s official examination has 100 scored multiple-choice questions and 15 additional pilot questions, with three hours and a 75% passing requirement. Confirm exam-day requirements with RIBO .
An active Finance Prep subscription or access pass includes every question in this bank and the other Finance Prep banks during your access period. The public practice page and app preview require no purchase.
Dated improvements
September 22, 2026 — Added 571 more questions and Select TWO practice
We added 571 reviewed questions, increasing the existing RIBO Level 1 bank from 1,749 to 2,320 questions. All 1,749 previously available questions remain in the same bank, with the same Finance Prep access.
The additions include 311 single-answer questions and 260 Select TWO exercises. Each new question explains every answer choice, helping you check both the supported conclusions and the reasons other choices do not fit. Use Select TWO for additional learning, and single-answer practice for the official exam format.
The new practice covers:
- Policy wording and coverage: Ontario auto provisions, property conditions, commercial losses and travel-health limitations.
- Calculations: deductibles, limits, waiting-period losses and the amount the client must fund.
- Broker duties and client service: authority, disclosures, privacy, payment deadlines and claims communication.
- Decisions from evidence: comparing quotations, checking dates and identifying the fact that changes a recommendation.
The 100-question public exam now includes 25 examples from these additions alongside 75 previously available questions. Its ten-topic allocation is unchanged. Use the explanations to review policy interpretation, calculations and the evidence behind each answer.
September 22, 2026 — Added 410 questions to the existing bank
We added 410 reviewed questions, bringing the same RIBO Level 1 bank from 1,339 to 1,749 questions. All 1,339 questions from the earlier correction release remain available.
The additions provide more practice with decisions that depend on the particular client, policy wording and evidence:
- Current Ontario auto coverage: July 2026 accident-benefit choices and renewal treatment, who optional benefits cover, and distinctions among vehicle endorsements.
- Broker conduct: delegated authority, paid referrals, sensitive personal information, trust refunds and complaint handling.
- Coverage comparisons: water damage, condominium assessments, commercial income losses, claims-made reporting periods and fraud-related losses.
- Client decisions: affordable deductibles, remaining uninsured losses, reliable valuation evidence and renewal changes.
Each new question explains all four answer choices. We checked the additions for factual accuracy, a defensible correct answer, calculations and explanation consistency before publication.
The 100-question public exam now includes 28 questions from this expansion alongside 72 retained questions. Its ten-topic allocation is unchanged. The previous sample questions remain available in the app. Supporting review pages now give more precise guidance on current auto provisions and on deciding from the stated evidence rather than choosing an answer merely because it lists more actions.
September 22, 2026 — Corrected questions and reduced repetition
We reviewed all 1,456 questions in the existing bank, corrected or clarified 318, and removed 117 repetitive questions whose learning decisions were covered by retained questions. The same RIBO Level 1 bank contained 1,339 questions after this correction release; no new questions were added in that step.
The corrections improve the facts and reasoning that determine an answer:
- Broker duties: clearer distinctions between trust-account rules, insurer authority, supervision, privacy, conflicts and referral arrangements.
- Coverage and claims: clearer policy assumptions, coverage limits, deductible calculations and the boundary between broker support and an insurer’s claim decision.
- Client service: more precise fact-finding, current information checks, timely updates and records of client instructions.
- Answer explanations: every corrected question now explains each answer option, so you can see why the alternatives do or do not fit the stated facts.
The public 100-question set was refreshed from the reviewed bank. It retains 93 previous questions, including their corrections, and replaces seven retired questions with retained practice from the same topic areas.
This continues the existing bank and exam route. It is not a new RIBO examination version, and useful earlier questions remain available alongside the corrections.
How to interpret practice results
Editorial review checks accuracy, assumptions, calculations, alternatives and explanations. It does not establish equivalence to official exam difficulty or show that a practice percentage predicts passing. Some foundational questions remain deliberately straightforward.
Use fresh mixed sets after reviewing mistakes, correct guesses and slow decisions. Repeating this fixed public set can improve scores through answer recognition. The Study Plan and practice-score guidance explain how to turn results into further study.
