Use the official LE examination overview for the current Paper 1 format, languages, delivery, frequency, pass mark, and candidate information.
The current LE Paper 1 syllabus is effective from June 30, 2026. HKSI Institute’s study-guide update page identifies Study Guide version 3.5 as the current Paper 1 basis for examinations from that date.

Version discipline
Paper 1 and the other LE papers do not necessarily move to the same Study Guide version on the same date. For example, version 3.6 applies to some other papers, while the current Paper 1 guide is version 3.5. Always match the paper number, version, and validity date instead of inferring one paper’s update from another.
When a precise rule controls an answer:
- identify the examination date and current Study Guide version;
- identify the actor and governing source;
- check whether the rule was in force for the supplied date;
- distinguish enacted requirements from consultations or proposals;
- use the official source for changing forms, thresholds, periods, and terminology.
