Current RE5 practice

The rebuilt bank contains 1,200 original practice questions, published September 16, 2026. It covers all eight representative task areas identified in the FSCA RE1/RE5 preparation guide : regulatory framework, licence maintenance, key-individual responsibilities, conduct, records, FIC Act duties, the FAIS Ombud and operating as a representative.

Practice includes 910 single-answer questions and 290 Select TWO exercises. The latter ask you to distinguish two independently supported conclusions from five choices. They are additional learning exercises: the official RE5 format uses four choices with one correct answer. Our free 50-question exam uses that single-answer format.

The practice map shows the current inventory by task. Finance Prep’s topic allocation is an editorial practice choice; FSCA does not publish task-level examination percentages. Inventory counts also differ from the mix in an individual app session.

Finance Prep is independent from the FSCA. These are original practice materials, not official FSCA questions, copied live-exam content or exam dumps. This is a rebuild of our practice bank, not a new official RE5 examination version.

Dated improvements

September 17, 2026 — Refreshed free exam and study pages

Replaced the public free set with 50 single-answer questions from the reviewed bank, covering all eight task areas. The set combines direct distinctions, applied cases, documentary evidence and regulatory calculations. This is one fixed practice set; reloading does not create a fresh exam.

Updated the displayed bank size, the actual task inventory and the distinction between official format and additional learning exercises. The study and scenario pages now explain how to use the different kinds of practice. This page adds a dated improvement record and a private feedback form.

September 16, 2026 — Rebuilt RE5 question bank

Published a newly structured 1,200-question bank to replace the previous 600-question offering. The rebuild adds useful practice in interpreting records, applying rules to a representative’s work, and separating similar obligations under different sources.

Question review addressed factual scope, missing assumptions, competing defensible answers, calculation setup and explanation consistency. Examples of the distinctions covered include:

• Authority and roles: separate the FSP’s licensed scope, the representative’s appointment and the record of that appointment.
• Conduct and client evidence: connect disclosure, suitability and instructions to what actually happened, rather than treating a completed form as proof of suitable advice.
• Records and deadlines: identify the correct triggering event, retention obligation and applicable date-counting rule.
• Supervision and fair process: distinguish internal arrangements from statutory requirements, and account for material evidence before a debarment decision.
• Quantitative evidence: reconcile client records, aggregate relevant benefits and interpret ownership relationships using the facts supplied.

Review also checked the question diagrams and their correspondence with the surrounding facts. Existing learner history and glossary cards were retained during the bank replacement.

Quality and practice scores

Our review focuses on accuracy, clear assumptions, defensible answers and explanations that teach the controlling distinction. Scope mapping and editorial review support those aims; they do not establish psychometric equivalence to the official RE5 exam or superiority over another provider.

More questions, longer scenarios and extra answer choices do not automatically make practice better. Use your results to find unfamiliar rules, correct guesses, slow reasoning and recognized questions. A practice percentage is not a validated passing prediction.
