Use the official CME-1A exam profile for current format, language, booking, delivery, candidate, and qualification information.

The Financial Academy’s CME-1A preparation program provides the official ten-part learning structure.

For the controlling English learning outcomes, use the CISI International Introduction to Securities & Investment syllabus, version 19 . Version 19 applies to examinations from September 10, 2026. Candidates sitting earlier should confirm the version tied to their exam date.

Keep CME-1A and CME-1B separate

CME-1A is the international securities-and-investment foundation component. It covers institutions, economics, securities, markets, derivatives, funds, regulation and ethics, other financial products, and advice.

CME-1B assesses Saudi capital-market rules. A local regulation, implementing rule, form, deadline, or Capital Market Authority requirement should not be treated as CME-1A scope merely because both components form part of the wider CME-1 route.

Version discipline

When a precise detail controls an answer:

1. identify the scheduled examination date;
2. confirm the applicable Financial Academy and CISI version;
3. distinguish current requirements from earlier editions;
4. use the current source owner for changing candidate or exam-day rules;
5. keep international foundation content separate from Saudi regulatory content.
