CCAC Exam Blueprint: Confluent Cloud Operator Domains
Map the seven Cloud operator domains to preparation tasks, published weights and the boundaries between official exam facts and practice choices.
Use this checklist alongside the Confluent Cloud certification datasheet . Source checked: September 30, 2026. The task examples below are preparation prompts, not an additional official subobjective list.
Seven domains and practical review tasks
| Official domain | Published weight | Preparation task |
|---|---|---|
| Confluent Cloud Core Concepts | 17% | Trace a resource hierarchy and select a service offering using stated networking, capacity and feature requirements. |
| Kafka Operations | 17% | Read a partition or offset trace and explain how retention and consumer groups affect recovery. |
| Confluent Cloud Static Operations | 14% | Establish identities, permissions, credentials and a supported network path for a workload. |
| Confluent Cloud Dynamic Operations | 16% | Interpret measurements and validate an approved capacity, configuration or credential change. |
| Confluent Cloud Streaming Pipelines | 11% | Check connector direction, external dependencies and capacity for an approved Flink statement. |
| Confluent Cloud Data Governance | 13% | Identify the effective schema policy and the owners or downstream systems affected by a change. |
| Confluent Cloud Resilience | 11% | Separate zone failures from regional recovery and explain promotion, failover and failback dependencies. |
The seven percentages total 99%, although the datasheet’s total line says 100%. The table preserves the printed figures. App practice normalizes and rounds the allocation; the public preview is rounded to whole questions.
Scope boundaries
The outline includes provisioning Cloud resources, onboarding users and applications, networking, monitoring, schemas and connectivity. It excludes developing code, designing data models, building stream-processing applications or pipelines, and performing Kafka administrative tasks.
For preparation, distinguish operating an approved managed pipeline from writing its application logic. Our interpretation of the administration exclusion separates broker-host administration from the managed topic and consumer operations covered by the named Kafka Operations domain. Keep this distinction in mind when using broader Kafka documentation.
Exam format and practice format
Confluent’s certification FAQ lists 90-minute proctored exams. The Cloud outline describes multiple-choice, multiple-response, matching and ordered-list interactions. IT Mastery uses single-answer and Select TWO practice; it does not reproduce every official interface or prescribe an official interaction ratio.
A fixed official item count and numeric passing score were not established in the checked sources. The 24-question preview is an editorial sample. Follow the current registration and preparation guidance before booking.
Record evidence, then choose a review task
For each domain, record whether you can explain it only with notes or apply it to fresh evidence. Save one short example: a resource hierarchy, offset calculation, permission boundary, network path, telemetry interpretation or recovery sequence. Review a weak heavily weighted domain first, while retaining coverage across all seven.
