AIC Adjuster Level 1 Study Plan

A practical 7, 14, 30, and 60/90-day study plan for AIC Adjuster Level 1 (Alberta Insurance Council) practice.

Study plan orientation

Use this plan to turn your remaining time into a repeatable cycle of focused review, original practice questions, explanation repair, and timed work for the Alberta Adjuster Level 1 exam. Confirm current registration and exam-day rules with the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC); Finance Prep is the independent practice layer.

The current exam has 100 questions in two hours with a 70% pass mark. Its published mix is General 40%, Property 25%, Automobile 25%, and Liability 10%. Allocate study time approximately in that proportion, then give extra time to the areas your results show are weak.

Plan checkpoints

Point in the planCheckResponse
StartComplete a mixed diagnostic without reviewing answers as you goRank the four domains by weakness and identify recurring error types.
MidpointComplete an unseen mixed set under moderate time pressureRedirect study time to repeated reasoning gaps, not merely the lowest raw score.
Final weekComplete a 100-question timed mock in two hoursReview every miss and every guess; do not repeat the same static set for reassurance.
Day beforeUse a short confidence check and quick referenceStop broad new study. Review authority, evidence, documentation, and recurring traps.

Missed-question log

FieldWhat to write
TopicThe topic area or skill tested
Error typeCoverage gap, evidence gap, valuation confusion, liability error, authority issue, scenario misread, or timing problem
Controlling factThe detail that should have changed your answer
Correct next stepThe investigation, documentation, communication, approval, or escalation action the facts support
Next drillThe focused topic and date for a fresh retest

The best schedule turns misses into targeted practice. If the same error appears twice, pause broad mocks and repair that issue before taking another full timed set.

Keep licensing administration separate

Study progress does not replace the AIC application process. AIC currently states that exam marks are valid for 12 months and that it must receive an approved and paid resident application within that period. Verify the current application, firm recommendation, criminal-check, E&O, fee, and supervision requirements directly with AIC.
